Venue Hire Information

The Play Factory Playgroup venue is available for hire — perfect for birthday parties, family gatherings, and community events.

Availability

Mainly weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
Set party times of 9am-1pm and 1.30pm-5.30pm
Other times may be available by prior arrangement with the Committee
Please allow an additional hour for clean-up when paying your booking fee, as you must vacate on time.

Hire Fees (Minimum 4 Hours)

Play Factory Members

$150 for 4 hours
$100 refundable bond
Available to members who have been registered for at least 3 months

Non-Members

$250 for 4 hours
$200 refundable bond

Extra Time

$20 per additional hour

Bonds and Cleaning

Your bond will be refunded in full unless the Play Factory Committee determines that additional cleaning or repairs are required.

Please note:

There may be more than one party booked per day
Prior access may not be possible, and you must clean up immediately after your event

Parking Information
Santich Park (the oval behind Play Factory) is used by South Coogee Junior Football Club during winter and Little Athletics in spring/summer.
Parking can be limited on these days — however, you’re welcome to park briefly in front of Play Factory to unload food, drinks, and supplies.

Cancellations

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please email the Party Booking Coordinator at playfactoryparties@gmail.com at least 48 hours in advance.
Failure to provide adequate notice may result in the loss of your bond.

In the case of unforeseen circumstances, both the hire fee and bond will be fully refunded.

Party FAQS

How do I make a party booking?

Please use the booking link on our website to view available dates and times. Your party will be confirmed once the booking form is completed, payment is made, and the party terms and conditions are accepted.

When will I get my bond back?

Your bond will be refunded in the week after your party, provided there has been no breach of the party terms and conditions.

What does a party give me access too?

Your party booking includes exclusive use of our fully air-conditioned facility for 4 hours for up to 50 people. Enjoy access to all indoor and outdoor toys (shed access included), plus a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, kettle, urn, and basic utensils, cutlery, and crockery.

Tables and chairs are provided (suitable for up to 20 children), along with separate adult and children’s bathrooms.

What is not included?

Please note that we do not provide food, drinks, decorations, or tea towels. We kindly ask that anything you bring with you is taken when you leave, and that decorations are not hung from fans.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Bookings can be cancelled via the app or by emailing the parties coordinator at playfactoryparties@gmail.com. To receive a full refund, at least 48 hours’ notice is required. Cancellations within 48 hours will be reviewed by the committee to see if a partial refund is possible.

Do I have to clean after our party?

Yes! The 4-hour booking includes time for both set-up and clean-up. We provide cleaning supplies on site, including mops, vacuums (found in the adult bathroom), and cleaning products under the kitchen sink. Please ensure all surfaces are cleaned, rubbish is placed in the outside bins, and the venue is left in its original condition.

How do I access the centre and when will I receive instructions?

The party coordinator will email you access details on the THURSDAY prior to your party. Everything is located on site.

As our centre is run by volunteers, response times may vary so please be mindful! If you are hosting a party, a mobile number will be provided for emergencies only. All directions will be supplied prior to your party and are self-explanatory.

For photos of our centre, please refer to our social media pages. Viewing the centre in person may be arranged during one of our playgroup sessions; however, prior approval and notice are required.

Can I bring alcohol?

No, alcohol and smoking within our facility is strictly prohibited. We are also nut free!

Can I have external vendors at the centre? (eg. face painter/animal farm)

Yes, external vendors are welcome, but prior approval and certain requirements apply. All vendors must provide a current certificate of public liability insurance and a copy of an invoice with company details (prices can be redacted). Vendors without a valid certificate will not be allowed, as The Play Factory is not insured in those cases.

Access for animals will be provided, but vehicles are not allowed inside the facility to protect our lawn. We also ask that all animal droppings are cleaned up before departure.
