Session Leaders
Each session has a voluntary Session Leader. Your Session Leader is your most important point of contact for information. Session Leaders relay feedback information to session members from the Committee and vice versa. Session Leaders can answer any specific questions you may have about the Play Factory and how things run.
What to expect from a session
Sessions can be as formal or informal as you like. Some groups have rosters for providing snacks, running children’s activities, setting up play equipment and cleaning up/packing away. The amount of structure your playgroup session has is up to the members but is often determined by the size of your group, the ages and needs of the children in the session. Craft and activity ideas for sessions are in the Playgroup activity file in the craft storeroom located near the Baby Change Room.
Allergy Policy
The Play Factory is nut aware. This is a change from our previous policy which stated we were ‘nut free’. This change is to better reflect what efforts we can all do to minimise the risk to children with allergies, whilst appreciating that we cannot be completely confident that all food items brought in to The Play Factory are nut free or that another child has not consumed nuts before coming into playgroup. Parents and caregivers are strongly advised not to bring nuts or food that contains nuts onto the premises. There are children who have other severe allergies, so please be sensitive to these families and liaise with the members in your group as to what foods are safe to bring to your session.
