Mrs. Katy Watson, the founding member of the Munster Playgroup, initiated the group in response to a lack of available playgroups in the area. With the encouragement of Sister Williams, she and several mothers formed a small collective. After facing initial resistance from the City of Cockburn, they secured the use of the Changeroom Facilities at Santich Park 1985. The group gradually grew and adapted, introducing structured activities and engaging with the local council to improve their facilities. Over time, they established a supportive community focused on children's activities.
